Steve Gull: Biographical information

Steve has been a member of the teaching staff in the Cavendish Laboratory since 1975. His research in radioastronomy brought him up against "the image processing problem": in 1978 he and Geoff Daniell published their joint paper on the Maximum Entropy method.

During the next few years, Steve found himself applying MEM to a wide variety of physical problems, many of them of great commercial importance. In 1981 he,and another radio astronomer, John Skilling, founded MEDC to exploit these opportunities.

Steve is Managing Director of MEDC, but retains his strong academic links, and is now a Professor in Physics at Cambridge University and a Fellow of St John's college, Cambridge.
